Several lines are "From" prices or ranges rather than a single figure. One line is printed as S$300 to S$800 per job, and another as From S$450 to S$850+ per job. One line is a package that includes deep floor cleaning, at S$500 per job. The ninth line (From S$360) names 3 rooms and covers post-renovation or tenancy cleaning. It is printed without a unit.

Dust level and home size

Renovation dust is much finer than everyday household dust. Cutting tiles, sanding and drilling leave a powder that settles on ledges, door frames and light fittings. It slides into window tracks, collects in aircon vents and drifts inside cabinets and wardrobes. It often needs a vacuum first and then wiping, sometimes twice, so a post-renovation clean usually takes longer than a routine one.

A flat where walls were hacked and floors retiled will usually have more dust than one that was only repainted. Home size matters too: more rooms, windows and cabinets mean more surfaces to clear.

In the directory, only one line names a home size (3 rooms), and no line prices by flat type, BTO or resale. When you ask for quotes, describe your flat clearly: the number of rooms and bathrooms, which areas were renovated and what works were done. You can browse companies that list post-renovation cleaning and see what each one says it covers.

Timing with your contractor

Book the clean for after your contractor has finished and cleared the debris. If cleaners come while works are still going on, new dust settles on surfaces they have just wiped.

HDB says flat owners must make sure the renovation contractor removes and disposes of debris at an NEA-approved site if the Town Council does not provide a debris removal service, according to HDB's important information on renovations. Some works also need an HDB permit, which our guide to HDB renovation permits explains.

When you agree the handover date, keep HDB's renovation hours in mind. General renovation works run from 9am to 6pm on weekdays and Saturdays, with none on Sundays and public holidays. Noisy works such as cutting tiles and heavy drilling are allowed from 9am to 5pm on weekdays only, as set out on the HDB renovation page.

Many households book this before they move in, so booking earlier gives you more choice of dates. It also sits well alongside the other jobs on a new home move-in checklist.

Add-ons: window tracks, cabinets and more

A basic post-renovation clean does not always cover every surface, so ask what is included and what counts as an add-on.

Add-ons to ask about
Add-onWhat to ask
Inside cabinets and wardrobesAre interiors, shelves and drawers wiped, or only the outside?
Window tracks and grillesAre tracks vacuumed and grilles wiped down?
GlassWhich glass surfaces are covered, such as windows and shower screens?
Floor polishingIs polishing part of the clean, or a separate service?
Sticker and paint-spot removalWill they remove stickers, protective film and paint spots, and on which surfaces?

One published line is a package with deep floor cleaning at S$500 per job. For anything else, ask each company to list its add-ons and their prices separately in the quote.

What changes the post-renovation cleaning price

Things that can change a quote include:

  • Home size. More rooms, bathrooms and windows mean more surfaces to clean.
  • Dust and debris left. A flat with heavy dust or leftover debris takes longer than one the contractor has cleared.
  • Cleaners and hours. The number of cleaners and how long they spend on site shape the quote.
  • Add-ons. Cabinet interiors, window tracks, glass, floor polishing and sticker removal can add time.
  • Equipment. Some jobs call for an industrial vacuum to lift fine dust.
  • Access. How easily the team can reach your unit, including lifts and parking.
  • Furniture. An empty flat is quicker to clean than one where furniture has already moved in.

Your post reno cleaning cost comes from these factors together, so two quotes for similar flats can differ.

What a fair quote should list

Before you agree, check that the written quote lists:

  • The areas and tasks covered, room by room.
  • The number of cleaners and the hours they expect to spend.
  • Equipment and cleaning supplies, and who provides them.
  • Each add-on and its price.
  • What is excluded, for example whether debris removal is included or left to your contractor.
  • Redo terms: what happens if you find dust in an area after the team leaves.
  • Payment terms, including any deposit and when the balance is due.

Use this list to compare cleaning companies on the same basis.

Questions

When should I book post-renovation cleaning?

Book it once your contractor has finished all works and cleared the debris, so new dust does not settle after the clean. If you can, schedule it before your furniture arrives, because an empty flat is easier to clean thoroughly. Agree a firm handover date with your contractor first.

Does post-renovation cleaning include removing renovation debris?

Ask each company whether debris removal is included in its quote. HDB says flat owners must make sure their renovation contractor removes and disposes of debris at an NEA-approved site if the Town Council does not provide a debris removal service, as set out on HDB's renovation information page.

How is post-renovation cleaning different from deep cleaning?

A post-renovation clean deals with what the works leave behind: fine dust in tracks, vents and cabinets, plus stickers and paint spots. Deep cleaning is a thorough clean of a lived-in home, focused on built-up dirt. If you are unsure which you need, describe your flat and ask the company.

Is post-renovation cleaning priced differently for BTO and resale flats?

Not in the published directory data. None of the 9 published lines prices by BTO or resale, and only one names a home size (3 rooms, printed without a unit). There is no separate BTO cleaning price, so your quote depends on the amount of dust, your home size and the add-ons you choose.

Should I be at home during the clean?

It helps to be there at the start and the end. At the start, walk the team through each room and point out what matters most to you. At the end, check cabinets, window tracks and floors against the quote while the team is still there.

Does a home cleaning company need an NEA licence?

No, not for cleaning your home. NEA's Cleaning Business Licence FAQ says businesses providing domestic cleaning at premises occupied as a private residence do not need to be licensed. The licence is for non-domestic general cleaning, for example offices or condo common areas. For a home clean, focus on the quote and the scope of work.
