Many lines are "From" prices, so the printed figure is a starting point. Conditions printed on some lines include:
- S$23.98 per hour, printed as "incl. GST, min 2 hours".
- S$24 per hour, with a 3-hour minimum per session over 4 sessions.
- From S$21 per hour, for weekly or fortnightly bookings with a minimum of 3 bookings.
- S$20 per hour, for a 2-hour evening slot.
- S$26 per hour, for a one-time service.
For other kinds of cleaning jobs, see home cleaning prices. To see who offers regular help, browse part-time cleaners and read each company's terms at the source.
Recurring or one-off bookings
Some lines in the rate table are for regular bookings. One is for weekly or fortnightly cleaning and needs at least 3 bookings. Another needs 4 sessions of at least 3 hours each. One line is a one-time service at S$26 per hour.
Do not read these lines as a rule that a recurring booking always costs less. Several companies print separate recurring terms, and each sets its own conditions, so compare like for like: the same number of hours per visit, the same frequency and the same commitment.
If you only need help once, look at ad hoc cleaning and ask for the one-off rate. If you want a regular slot, ask each company how many bookings or sessions you commit to, whether the rate changes if you pause for a week, and what rate applies once the commitment ends.
Minimum hours and travel
In the rate table, printed minimums are 2 hours on one line and 3 hours a session on another. Because many lines are "From" prices, check the minimum on the company's own page or ask before you book.
If your home is small, a minimum can mean booking more time than you need. If your home is large, the minimum may not cover every room. Plan what the cleaner should do within the hours you book, and ask how the minimum is charged if the work finishes early.
The rate table does not show any travel or transport charges. Ask each company whether it charges for travel or transport, when that charge applies, and whether your quote already includes it.
Supplies and GST
Before you book, ask whether the cleaner brings cleaning products and equipment, such as a vacuum cleaner, mop and cloths, or whether you need to provide them. Also ask whether supplies are included in the hourly rate or charged separately.
Only one line in the rate table says it includes GST: the S$23.98 per hour rate printed as "incl. GST, min 2 hours".
IRAS explains that not all businesses are registered for GST, and only GST-registered businesses may charge it. Prices displayed by a GST-registered business should be the final, GST-inclusive prices. IRAS also has an e-Service to check whether a business is GST-registered.
When you get a quote, ask whether the company is GST-registered and whether the hourly rate you are given is the final price.
What changes the price
Several things change the part time cleaner price you pay, even when two hourly rates look similar.
- Hours and minimums. The hours you book, and any minimum per visit or session, set the base of what you pay.
- Recurring or one-off. Some lines apply only to weekly or fortnightly bookings or to a set number of sessions. One line is a one-time service.
- Evening or weekend slots. One line is a 2-hour evening slot at S$20 per hour. Ask whether a company prices evening or weekend slots differently.
- Supplies. Ask whether products and equipment are included in the rate or charged separately.
- Number of cleaners. Ask how many cleaners will come and whether the hourly rate is per cleaner or for the whole visit.
Some cleaning jobs are priced per job instead, so read about choosing an hourly rate or fixed price. If your home needs more than routine upkeep, check whether you need a part-time cleaner or deep cleaning first.

Compare cleaning companiesWhat a fair quote should list
Before you confirm a booking, check that the quote covers these points.
| Point | What to ask |
|---|---|
| Hourly rate and minimum | The rate per hour and the minimum hours per visit or session |
| GST | Whether GST is included and whether the rate is the final price |
| Supplies | Who brings products and equipment, and whether they cost extra |
| Cancellation terms | How much notice you need to give, and whether a late cancellation is charged |
| Same cleaner | Whether the same cleaner comes each time or it may change |
| Tasks | What the cleaner will do within the hours booked |
If a quote leaves any of these out, ask before you agree. With written quotes in hand, it is easier to compare cleaning companies on the same points.
Questions
Is there a minimum number of hours for a part-time cleaner?
Often, yes. In the rate table, printed minimums include 2 hours on one line and 3 hours a session on another. Many lines are "From" prices, so check the minimum on the company's own page, and ask how it is charged if the work finishes early.
Is a weekly part-time cleaner cheaper than a one-off clean?
Not always. Several companies print separate terms for weekly or fortnightly bookings, such as a minimum number of bookings or sessions. Compare like for like, with the same hours, frequency and commitment, and ask each company for both its one-off and regular rates.
Do part-time cleaners bring their own supplies?
The published rates do not say, so ask before you book. Confirm whether the cleaner brings products and equipment such as a vacuum cleaner and mop, and whether these are included in the hourly rate or charged separately.
Are the hourly rates inclusive of GST?
Only one line in the rate table says it includes GST. IRAS says not all businesses are GST-registered, and those that are should display final, GST-inclusive prices. Ask whether the company is registered and whether your quote is the final price. IRAS has an e-Service to check registration.
What can a part-time cleaner do in 3 hours?
It depends on the size and condition of your home. In a routine session, you might ask for floors swept and mopped, surfaces dusted, the kitchen counters and sink wiped, toilets and bathrooms cleaned, and bins emptied. Agree on priorities at the start so the tasks that matter most are done first.
What is the Household Services Scheme?
MOM's Household Services Scheme allows companies to hire more migrant workers to provide part-time domestic services such as home cleaning, grocery shopping, car-washing and pet-sitting. For part-time or temporary help with household chores, MOM says you can contact any of the HSS companies it lists.
