Home service prices in Singapore: the headline counts
The HomezyPro directory lists 745 home-service companies across five trades: aircon, home cleaning, plumbing, electrical and handyman work. Of these, 321 publish at least one price on their own website that the directory links to.
A company counts here when it publishes at least one price line with a figure, and that line links to the company's own page.

Method and sample
Each company is counted once, under its main trade, even if it also offers other services.
A price counts when the line shows a figure and links to the source page where the company prints it. Every one of the 321 companies with a linked price publishes it on its own website.
Across those 321 companies there are 1,306 published price lines. A company that covers several services can publish many lines, and the line counts later on this page include all of them.

Aircon is the only trade where more than half of the listed companies publish a linked price. Home cleaning sits just under half, with 98 of 198, and plumbing follows with 34 of 100.
Fewer electricians and handymen publish. In electrical work, 24 of 116 companies have a linked price; in handyman work, 24 of 99 do. For most companies in these two trades, you will need to ask for a quote before you can compare.

66 companies publish a general servicing rate for one indoor unit. Their lowest published rates run from S$15 to S$90, with S$40 in the middle. The company count is even and both middle companies print S$40, so S$40 is a real published rate, not a calculated figure. Many of these lines are "From" prices, and some are multi-unit prices (price each) that apply only when you service a minimum number of units. For more aircon rates, see aircon servicing prices.
What is usually missing
Across the 321 companies there are 1,306 published price lines. Three gaps show up again and again:
- 433 lines are "From" prices, so the figure is a starting point, not the price for your job.
- 213 lines are printed without a unit, so you cannot tell whether the figure is per job, per unit, per hour or per visit.
- Only 112 lines say anything about GST: included, excluded, before GST or nett.
These gaps are the main limit on price transparency in home services. A figure without its unit or scope is hard to compare.
On GST, the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore (IRAS) says prices displayed by a GST-registered business should be the final, GST-inclusive prices, and such a business may not display, quote, advertise or publish prices without GST. If both are shown, the GST-inclusive price must be at least as prominent. Not every business is registered for GST, only registered businesses may charge it, and IRAS has an e-Service to check whether a business is registered.

A published price helps you plan and shortlist companies.
- Compare like with like. Put rates side by side only when they share the same unit and the same scope of work.
- Treat a "From" price as a starting point. Ask what the starting figure covers and what would make your job cost more.
- Get the quote in writing. A written quote should state the scope, the unit and the price before work starts.
- Ask about GST. Check whether the quoted price includes GST, so two quotes are compared on the same basis.
If the job could be priced by the hour or as a fixed sum, read hourly rate or fixed price before you compare quotes. If you are not sure which trade fits the job, start with which service you need.
Questions
Which trade publishes prices most often?
Aircon does. In the directory, 141 of the 232 aircon companies publish at least one linked price, which makes aircon the only trade where more than half publish. Home cleaning follows with 98 of 198, then plumbing with 34 of 100. Electrical and handyman companies publish least often, with 24 companies each.
Does a missing price mean a company is expensive?
No. A missing price says nothing about the level of the price. It only means the directory has no linked price line for that company, and the company may publish prices the directory does not list. Ask for a written quote with the unit, what it includes and whether GST is included, then compare it with published rates for the same scope.
Are published prices the final price?
Not always. Many published lines are "From" prices, which are starting points, and some apply only when you book a minimum number of units. Others are printed without a unit or say nothing about GST. Use a published price to plan, then confirm the final price, the unit and GST in a written quote before work starts.
Why do so few lines mention GST?
The data does not show why. It records only that 112 of the 1,306 published lines say anything about GST. Not every business is registered for GST, and IRAS says a GST-registered business should display GST-inclusive prices. If a line is silent on GST, ask the company whether the price includes it.
What is a "From" price?
A "From" price is a starting figure: the lowest amount a company prints for that service, and the price for your job may be higher. In the directory, 433 of the 1,306 published lines are "From" prices. Ask what the starting figure covers and what would raise it, and get the answer in writing.
How often are these counts updated?
The counts come from the directory when this page was written, and they change as companies are added. They are counts of linked prices, not a census of every price in the market. For a company's current rate, open its linked source page, since the company's own website is where the price is printed.
