Where HomezyPro prices come from
Every price on HomezyPro is a rate a company has published itself. Each rate belongs to a named service and to the conditions the company prints with it, and HomezyPro shows it as printed.
Each row in a price table links to its source, so you can read the full line on the company's own page. That is what sourced prices means here: every figure points back to where it came from.
Listings are unpaid, and a company cannot pay for a higher position. How HomezyPro works covers the directory in more detail.
One published rate per company
Many companies publish several lines for the same job, such as a rate for one unit and another for a set of units. Counting every line would give a company with many lines more weight than a company with one.
So each company counts once for a job, with its lowest published rate for that job. Only lines in the most common unit for that job are compared, so every figure in one summary uses the same unit.

Here, 66 companies publish a general servicing rate for one indoor unit. Their lowest published rates run from S$15 to S$90, with S$40 in the middle. Many are "From" prices. None of these one-unit rates needs a minimum, but many companies also publish lower per-unit rates that apply only when you book several units. The full table is on the aircon servicing prices page.
The middle rate, and why there are no averages
The middle figure in a summary is never calculated. It is one company's real published rate, found by lining up each company's lowest rate from low to high and reading the one in the middle.

Here, 12 companies publish a tap replacement rate for one basic tap. Their lowest published rates run from S$60 to S$130 per job. The count is even and the two middle rates differ, so there is no single middle rate.
An average would mislead in two ways. One very high or very low line can pull it up or down. And an average is usually a price that no company published. Keeping every figure tied to a real company is the core of this price methodology.
When no summary is shown
A price summary appears only when at least three companies publish a rate for the job. With fewer, the page asks you to get quotes instead.
HomezyPro never fills a gap with an invented or estimated price.

Find the right serviceWhy there are no quotes or totals
A published rate is a comparison aid. It is not a quotation, a final invoice or a market-wide price. Only the company can quote for your job.
HomezyPro does not multiply a per-unit rate by the number of units you have, and it does not add Goods and Services Tax (GST).
The Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore (IRAS) says that not every business is registered for GST, and only GST-registered businesses may charge it. A GST-registered business should display final, GST-inclusive prices and may not publish prices without GST. IRAS also has an e-Service to check whether a business is GST-registered.

Reading a published price
Before you compare published rates, check these points:
- The unit. A rate may be per job, per unit, per hour or per visit. A line printed without a unit needs a question: ask the company what it covers.
- "From" prices. A "From" price is where the line starts, not what every job costs. Ask what would make your job cost more.
- Minimums. Some rates apply only with a minimum number of units or hours. A multi-unit price (price each) is not the cost of a single unit.
- What the line includes. Ask whether parts, materials, transport and disposal are included or charged separately.
- Written confirmation. Before work starts, ask the company to confirm the price, scope and any extra charges in writing.

Are HomezyPro prices quotes?
No. They are each company's own published rates for a named service, quoted as printed and linked to the source. A published rate helps you compare companies before you contact them. Only the company can quote for your job, so confirm the price and scope in writing before work starts.
Why does HomezyPro not show an average price?
Because an average would usually be a price no company published. One very high or very low line can also pull an average up or down. HomezyPro shows the lowest and highest published rates and, where the rules allow, a middle figure that is one real company's rate, so every number traces back to a source.
Why is there sometimes no middle price?
There is no middle price when an even number of companies publish a rate and the two middle rates differ. A middle figure is shown only when both are equal. For tap replacement, 12 companies publish a rate and the two middle rates differ, so the summary shows only S$60 to S$130 per job.
Can a company pay to show a lower price?
No. Listings on HomezyPro are unpaid, and a company cannot buy a higher position. Every price shown is the company's own published rate for a named service, quoted as printed, and each row links to its source so you can check the figure on the company's own page.
Do the prices include GST?
HomezyPro shows each rate as printed and adds no GST. IRAS says GST-registered businesses should display final, GST-inclusive prices, but not every business is registered for GST, and only registered businesses may charge it. If you are unsure, ask the company whether its price includes GST, or use the IRAS e-Service to check whether it is registered.
Why do some jobs say ask for a quote?
Some jobs say ask for a quote because there is no suitable published rate to show. On a listing, it means the company has not published a rate that fits that job, not that the company is expensive. On a price page, it means fewer than three companies publish a rate, so no summary is shown.
